OK. I just saw the movie some 2-3 hours ago. I watched it in Chinese without English subs. Tried to understand as much as I can because I don't know a word of Chinese.
Let's cut to the chase. The story focuses on the intense friendship Shane and Jonathan shares. Jonathan realizes he's gay and he likes Shane. Shane starts to like Carrie (the girl who used to like Jonathan).
Highlight: Jonathan and Shane have sex. I know you've all been waiting to hear this.
It's a great scene not because we all love to watch two boys doing it. It was intense. It was meaningful. It serves a very essential part and growth of the story and the characters. It serves as a wake up call to the "blind spot" of Shane and Jonathan's friendship.
The emotion that was projected on screen during Jonathan and Shane's sex scene was amazing. I loved it. It was incredibly well choreographed! The characters' emotions were delivered with an absolute painful meaning. I almost cried.
And when Shane stared at Jonathan when he kissed him the fifth time, it gave me an impression that there were REAL reasons as to why Shane is doing it, and it's not because he realizes his bisexual at some point nor it's because he's drunk... It's sort of Shane's way of saying that he DOES love Jonathan as a friend and as a lover... kind of. And I guess it was also Shane's way to save their friendship which both characters find difficult to realize until it's happening right then and there.
OK. This is all I can type for now. I haven't written the review for the thousand other gay movies I've seen lately. Sorry, guys. I'm SO busy with school works. I'll post some screen caps if I find the time.
